A story about GS25 that not many People  know   <By Judy Jung, Allison Koh, and Dana Lim>

We students usually think GS25 is no more than just a shop that sells stuff, so today, we will tell you an exact story of it. GS25 is a convenience store. GS25 first opened in Dongdaemun-gu in Korea in 1990. In 2005, it split from the LG corporation, so it changed the name from LG25 to GS25. GS25 became very popular along with Nice To CU, another convenience store. GS25 became the most popular convenience store brand among Millenials and Gen-Z in South Korea in 2020.  GS25 is a subsidiary store, meaning a company owned or controlled by another one. This convenience store sells many goods and wants, and people use it very often. In fact, there are a whopping number of 14.5 thousand GS25 stores in South Korea. According to a survey, GS25 was the most preferred convenience store chain brand for more than one in three surveyed koreans.

As you can see, there are a lot of them just in this part of the map.

GS25 can be easily used with a variety of snacks, food, etc.

Judy:   In my town, I see a lot of GS25s. I also notice a lot of people going in and buying snacks and equipment. In my opinion, GS25 is a place people can simply use in their daily lives.                                                          

Dana: In my opinion, GS25 is great!!!!!!!!!!It has almost everything you need!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Allison: GS25 is mandatory for people to get simple snacks and umbrellas and so on. That is why in my opinion, GS25 is necessary for people.

These are just some of the things GS25 sells. People stop around this shop to have a bite or pick up snacks. (including us 😀AND especially Mr.Yong) YUM! YUM! There are different kinds of sandwiches, kimbap, and other combinations we can eat for a simple lunch of something. 

Dissecting the GS25 resources.

1. Human resources

Cashiers*

In charge of getting people’s orders and services. 

Take care of the money.  

Buyers also make a huge impact on business. We can’t call them a ‘human resource’, but without them, there will be no business. So basically, they are in “charge” of buying. As buyers, we have experienced how the resources in GS25 work. We know how the salesmen (or women) make money and what they work with. 

Workers keep track of the items that are sold.

Is in charge of the needs and wants.

The delivery man

This person has the duty to deliver the people their orders.

He/She also brings delivery to the shop.

 

 2. Capital resources 

Refrigerators keep the things GS25 sells fresh and delicious.

Gives a place to store the food.

Shelves also help GS25 keep the stuff safe along with the refrigerator. It is always filled up with a variety of things.

Cash desks make a place for the cashiers to get people’s orders. This desk is used for selling things.

3. Natural Resources

Well, the natural resources are actually the type of resources that GS25 can’t live without. GS25 is a store, and it’s obviously solid. And of course, those resources come from nature. Also, the things the stores sell, such as food are from nature. Without natural resources, GS25 will cease to exist. 

CONCLUSION 

Without human resources, capital  resources and especially natural resources, GS25 won’t be the famous, common store you see everyday, and it will in fact, seem invisible, or worse, never heard of.

REVIEW:

According to the reviews of South Korea, GS25’s star review was 3.7 stars, which is a fine score. Good comments exist, too.

CONCLUSION:  In conclusion, we agree upon the fact that GS25 is a famous, and common store. We can say that it has the resources to be that way. It has so much history and secrets. So whenever you see a GS25 across the street, think about its history, resources, and secrets.
